Jt.Collector, Prakasam District, VMC Members, PTA Members, Dear Children, Dear Parents, Success Study Circle, Ongole Academy, Value Foundation and RAMKY Group Activities/Heads and all Guests.

It is fine day and happiest occasion where excellent intellectuals and parents gathered to bless our children.

Once again good evening and welcome to all.

It’s more than five years since the inception of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ongole . And to be precise, it was exactly on the 23rd , Aug., 2007, the school came into existence, not without the persistent efforts of our Hon’ble and most beloved Member of Parliament, Ongole, Shri. Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy Garu and to realise the aspirations of parents of this area. The School had perforce to be run in the premises of PVR Boys Municipal High School. Even after five years span, we still have to run the school in the same temporary accommodation is something that disconcerts us very much. For the permanent Construction of school building 5.0 acres land is earmarked adjacent to Govt. Polytechnic College, Mamidipalem, Ongole, KVS authority has taken up the issue for the construction of “A” type Building is under process (the same may please be seen at Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan official website www.kvsangathan.nic.in under Construction activity.

At present Vidyalaya is having student strength of 344 as on date i.e., from Class I to IX. Staff Strength position on permanent basis: Principal Gr.I : 1 TGTs: 5, PRTs: 4, UDC : 1 and on Part Time Contractual basis for different posts 11 members were engaged.

I took charge as Grade 1 Principal of the Vidyalaya on 29th of July this year. Ever since, I have taken certain steps both with regard to academics to improve the learning output of the students with special emphasis on quality as well as the physical appearance of the Vidyalaya, which is essential for pleasant learning experience.

We invited Shri. Magunta Srinivasulu Reddy Garu, Hon’ble and Member of Parliament, Ongole as Chief Guest on the 15th of August this year. Sir inaugurated the computer lab and performed pooja at Saraswati Idol, despite his busy schedule. We installed Saraswati Idol in school premises. The Idol was donated Shri. G. Rammohan rao garu, M.D. Swati Granites.

We had one general Parent Teacher Meeting on August 18th to 30th , October 24th, 25th, and November 1st & 2nd 2011 and had taken the valuable views and suggestions given there in by them for the overall development of the students. We had handed over to all the parents a copy of guidelines/do’s and don’ts for the betterment of them. We have started special classes for students of classes VIII & IX after school up to 4.50p.m., daily. We had taken some special classes during the autumn break from October 3rd to 12th . We have already circulated the special-classes timetable for this Winter Break from 23rd Dec. to 30th Dec for secondary classes in three main subjects in Science, Math’s and English.

Actually, we are short of manpower. As far as Primary Classes are concerned, the school has been sanctioned 6 PRT’s out of which we have only three regular PRT’s, so the remaining three had to be taken on contractual basis. And in Secondary Sections, Social Science teacher’s post, Sanskrit teacher’s post and Art Education Teacher’s post have been sanctioned. But teachers for Library, Social Science and Art Education have not been posted. Hence, the necessity to engage teachers for Social Science and Sanskrit on contractual basis. We have also engaged one computer instructor on contractual basis, for which there is no regular teacher provision.

Our students attended Science Exhibition at K.V., Visakapatnam and Junior Science Congress at K.V.1, Uppal,Hyderabad on 30th Nov., 2011 and Cluster level Social Science Exhibition at K.V.1, Vijayawada on 2nd Nov., 2011 and won third prize in the Dance category. Our students were taken on small one day tour to a Museum at Kanuparthi Village, Singarakonda Temple and The Gundlakamma Project on the event of World Tourism Day on 27th Sept., 2011, organized by them. Our students took part in an inter-school cultural programme competitions on the 2nd of October and won first prize along with a cash prize of Rs. 1000/-. Two of our students Kum. Sireesha, Mast. Ganesh were selected for National Level Competitions conducted by KVS. Students of classes VIII & IX were to taken to Soil Testing Centre, Ogl. and Science labs of JNV, Ogl. as part of hands-on learning experience. My sincere thanks to madam Sagarika garu, Principal , JNV, Ongole, who is also one of our VMC members.

We have Scouts & Guides in Secondary and Cubs & Bulbuls in Primary section. The Scouts and Guides and Cubs & Bulbuls have attended training sessions at K.V. Tirumalagiri, Hyderabad and at K.V. Guntur respectively. Our teachers Mr. B.Ramesh, Ms. Shubhashree, Mr. Anil Kumar Nayak, Mr. Bijaya Krishna Subudhi extended their efforts a lot. We are also planning to open NSS and NCC shortly.

We conducted health checkup camps for our students twice in August & Oct., 2011 in the school. Two physicians from RIMS, Ongole carried out the tests. I express my sincere thanks to Shri. Dr. B.Anjaiah garu, Director, RIMS, Ongole, for obliging my request promptly and graciously in this regard.

And in the office the school has been sanctioned an LDC post, but no one posted so far. So, we engaged one LDC on contractual basis to help expedite the office work. Similarly two office sub-staff posts lie vacant since their transfer out of this place.

We have taken two teachers on contractual basis for spoken English – one for primary classes and the other for secondary classes, for there in no provision for payment from school, hence the collection of fees for that from secondary students warranted. We have also engaged two teachers for Telugu as was desired by the parents. We have turned the only computer lab with 30 systems to fully functional with broad band connection and LAN to be provided shortly with LCD Projector, for which we have already placed an order and due to go fully functional making e-learning not only enjoyable but fruitful too.

We do need rooms for CMP, Junior Science Lab, and one lab each for Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Mathematics and Class X, that means we need 7 rooms. I express my sincere gratitude to our Hon’ble Chairman(Nominee) Shri. Mohanrao garu ,AJC (Prakasham Dist.) and Shri. S. Ravindrababu garu, Commissioner, OMC, Ongole, who immediately acceded very nobly to my request.

On 25th Nov., 2011 – Sri S.M. Saleem, Dy. Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan(HR), Secunderabad visited the Vidyalaya and received good appreciation and awarded 71 marks.

Vidyalaya also hold the VMC Meeting on 18th Nov., 2011 for various matters on overall development of the Vidyalaya in Academics, Administration and Accounting matters.

When I took charge, the condition of the surroundings of the school was very much unlike K.V. and very unhygienic with pigs and other unwanted elements straying into the school premises posing a serious health-hazard to the students. I convened a special parents meeting to discuss the issue and do something in that regard. Parents have responded pretty well by raising some fund with voluntary contribution for taking up the works like leveling the front yard that is the Assembly area and building a wall to prevent the unwanted entry of animals and to erect a fencing on the west side adjoining the Municipal School.

Our Future proposals:- Establishment of three Labs viz., Biology, Chemistry & Physics. (2) Sanction of Addl. Section for Class I (3) Establishment of Addl. Computer Lab with 30 Computers for Primary Classes with Internet facility. (4) Fencing Wire in between two schools i.e., PVR Municipal School & Kendriya Vidyalaya. (5) Guidance & Counseling Classes for Academic Excellence. (6) Repair & fixation of Windows. (7) Potable Drinking Water Facility – R.O. systems 2 No.s (8) Submersible Motor Pump for Borewell (8) Standard & Regular sanitation measures. (9) 30 Cement Benches to erect in the Ground. In this regard we need certain monitory help from the Chairman, VMC & District Collector since the Vidyalaya is running in a temporary accommodation for which KVS authority is not in a position to sanction Additional Funds and also the above said works are huge budgetary expenditure. A Special Grant is requested for the betterment of the Vidyalaya academics/administration for which kind of we shall be thankful to sir.

I would like to express my very sincere thanks to Shri Kanthilal Dande garu, hon’ble Collector and Magistrate, Prakasham Dist. and Chairman VMC, K.V. Ongole, Shri. Ch.Mohanrao garu, Additional Joint Collector, Prakasham Dist. Chairman (Nominee), VMC, K.V. Ongole. , Shri. S. Ravindrababu garu, Commissioner, OMC, Ongole, Shri.
